In his pastoral concern, Bishop James Checchio has directed a time of sustained prayer during this month of June, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, to bring racial harmony, healing and peace to our nation. I invite you to join us every Friday in the month of June, at 5:00PM for an evening of prayer. Together, we will pray for racial harmony and the healing of our nation.
- June 12: Prayer led by Fr. Alphonsus Kariuki, coordinator of the African American Apostolate and pastor of St. John the Evangelist Parish, Dunellen, from where the prayer service will be held
- June 19: Prayer led by Bishop James F. Checchio, Bishop of Metuchen, from the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi, Metuchen
- June 26: Prayer led by Fr. Timothy Christy, Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia, from The Church of the Sacred Heart, South Plainfield
